What does it take to be the Coordinator?

The coordinator position is designed to be approx. 5-6 hours per week. Depending on the skillset of the candidate, we will offer a monthly salary between $500 and $800, to be paid as a consulting fee with no EI or vacation pay. Depending on funding, an annual extra compensation of up to $1300 will be included. Reimbursement for school related travel will be included on a per kilometre basis.

The coordinator will need to be available some weekends. The ideal applicant should reside in Regina or the surrounding area. The applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada, and be able to provide a background check.

The following is a list of desirable attributes and qualities being sought by the board of directors.

  • • Send out communication to the board and teachers, including Zoom links, meeting schedules, supporting documentation including a coordinator report for the period.

    • Monitor the main email inbox and provide responses to emails in a timely manner.

    • Organize information stored on Google Drive and Dropbox.

    • Process registrations as they come in. This includes logging the information into a spreadsheet, sharing with instructors, and sending students a confirmation with first class info and payment instructions.

    • Scan and file documents are required. Please have access to a scanner.

    • Basic banking responsibilities which include making receipts, going to the bank as necessary, being a signing authority for cheques, and sending out pay to teachers as needed (preparing and posting a cheque).

    • Oversee passwords which can include the handling of classified information.

    • Check our mailbox in Regina on a periodic basis.

    • Be a contact person for telephone calls and texts.

  • • Chair meetings, which may be on Zoom or in person.

    • Update/ maintain social media platforms. Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram would be a beneficial skillset.

    • Being able to interact in the German language is not a hiring criteria, but could be seen as an advantage. We recognize speakers as first-language and students of all levels.

    • If you have any background running a website on the Squarespace platform, please identify your background and abilities in your application to us.

  • • Provide business vision and recommendations for the school; making decisions in conjunction with the board of directors.

    • Complete marketing as required to promote classes and events. Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram would be a beneficial skillset.

    • Complete grant proposals as they come in, and subsequent follow up as needed. The ability to seek new grant and funding opportunities would be a beneficial skillset.

    • Engage with the community and build partnerships with likeminded groups. Networking.
